Georgia Mooney makes a dreamy debut with ‘War Romance’. It’s an ethereal example of detailed and nuanced songwriting, defined by fuzzy guitars and nostalgic, Kate Bush-esque production. Even classical music and Joni Mitchell find their way in as influences. The end result is something textured and genuinely moving, born out of modern-day issues such as climate change, Covid and political unrest. By performing as each other, the video has a campness that matches the melodrama of the music.
